A Visit to Rosenberg Australia at ARBS 2024: Insights into EC FanGrid Technology

During my visit to ARBS 2024, I stopped by the Rosenberg Australia stand, where I was immediately impressed by their innovative EC FanGrid. Having encountered EC FanGrid in retrofit applications for Air Handling Units (AHUs) before, I was eager to learn more about their advancements. I had an enlightening discussion with Thomas Grosse, Sandeep Mohapatra and Joerg Noe from Rosenberg, who provided detailed insights into their EC FanGrid technology.

Advanced Fan Selection Software: RoVent10

Thomas highlighted the capabilities of Rosenberg's selection software, RoVent10 which is specifically designed for engineers, consultants, contractors, and designers. This software ensures the correct selection of fans, maintaining sufficient flow and the right pressure drop while preventing efficiency losses due to fan interaction. This tool is indispensable for HVAC project designers, offering a streamlined approach to fan selection that enhances overall system performance. The program is free to download:

Innovative Inlet Design

A standout feature of Rosenberg's latest EC FanGrid incorporating the GKHD plug fan, is their specially designed outlet, aimed at minimizing efficiency losses. This was a novel concept to me, and the team @Rosenberg Australia explained the extensive research and development (R&D) efforts behind it. Rosenberg has employed Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling and physical testing to optimize sound, pressure, and efficiency performance. These guide vanes are engineered to direct airflow more efficiently, reducing turbulence and associated losses. This meticulous approach has resulted in a remarkable of up 14% increase in fan efficiency.

Comprehensive R&D Efforts

The level of detail in Rosenberg’s R&D efforts is impressive. The team’s commitment to optimizing their products through advanced modelling and rigorous testing ensures that their solutions deliver maximum efficiency. This dedication to innovation is evident in the performance improvements of their EC FanGrid with fan type GKHD.

Additional Product Offerings

Beyond the EC FanGrid & plug fan range, Rosenberg also showcased their Airtècnics air curtain range, manufactured in Spain. This product, along with various other solutions for OEM manufacturers in Australia, underscores Rosenberg’s broad capabilities in the HVAC market.

Conclusion

My visit to the Rosenberg stand at ARBS 2024 was both informative and impressive. The advancements in EC FanGrid technology, particularly the innovative outlet design and well-designed selection software RoVent10, highlight Rosenberg's commitment to efficiency and performance. Their extensive R&D efforts ensure that their products meet the high standards required in modern HVAC applications.

Engaging with the Rosenberg team provided valuable insights into their approach to engineering and product development, reaffirming their position as one of the leaders in the Australian HVAC market.
