Exploring Con-form Group's Innovations at ARBS 2024

During my visit to ARBS 2024, I had the pleasure of stopping by the booth of Con-form Group. Known for their platforms, walkways and acoustic screens, Con-form Group has now introduced two exciting new products: Acoustic+ DC and the Acoustic+ LouvreWall. This cost-effective solid wall and acoustic louvre, made from light-gauge steel, promises to revolutionise the market by balancing cost and performance. By the way, the ‘DC’ stands for Data Centre because this product has been specifically created for data centres which have to be the noisiest rooftops around with their rows and rows of chillers.

Discovering the Key Advantages

When I asked the team about what sets Acoustic+ DC and the Acoustic+ LouvreWall apart, they highlighted its affordability. The Acoustic+ range is approximately 25 to 50% cheaper than other acoustic screens and louvres, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious projects. The use of popular Colorbond colours not only reduce costs but also add a sleek aesthetic finish that can match the colour of building facades. This eliminates the need for additional builder’s screens and louvres, ultimately lowering the total construction costs.

Insights into Testing and Performance

Curious about the product's reliability, I inquired about its testing phase. The team informed me that Acoustic+ DC and the Acoustic+ LouvreWall are undergoing rigorous testing at a University in Queensland, alongside their in-house evaluations. These tests focus on critical parameters such as pressure drop and acoustic performance, ensuring that the products meet the highest industry standards. This commitment to thorough testing reassured me of the products’ quality and effectiveness. What Con-form Group was able to tell me was that the Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) for these two new products is the perfect score of 1.0. Meaning they are suitable for the noisiest HVAC environments.

Balancing Aesthetics and Functionality

One of the most impressive aspects of Acoustic+ DC and the Acoustic+ LouvreWall is their ability to combine aesthetic appeal with functionality. The Colorbond colours not only look great but also ensure architectural compliance, making them an ideal choice for contractors who want both performance and visual appeal. This dual benefit is particularly valuable in today’s competitive construction market.

A Closer Look at Acoustic Screening

After discussing Acoustic+ DC and the Acoustic+ LouvreWall, we moved on to Conform Group’s existing acoustic screening product, Acoustic+. This product features comprehensive sound data available online. It has an NRC of 0.75 and has been used on a wide variety of sites such as hospitals, medical centres, shopping centres, universities, schools, commercial offices, government buildings, fast food outlets, petrol stations and sporting facilities. It also comes in a variety of standard Colorbond colours. It also offers diverse finishes, such as wood grain and leather, allowing the acoustic screen to serve as both a functional noise barrier and a visual enhancement. This versatility adds significant value to any project.

Wanting to understand Con-forms experience in accoustics further i had a quick browse of their technical articles and resources on their website and stumbled across this great Webinar hosted by Engineers Australia

Final Thoughts

My visit to Con-form Group at ARBS 2024 was enlightening. The launch of Acoustic+ DC and the Acoustic+ LouvreWall showcases their dedication to innovation and cost-effective solutions in the acoustic products market. With rigorous testing and a focus on both aesthetics and functionality, Acoustic+ DC and the Acoustic+ LouvreWall stand out as a valuable addition to any construction project. The Acoustic+ further complements their offerings, ensuring that Con-form Group continues to meet the diverse needs of the industry. This visit reinforced my appreciation for the thought and effort that goes into creating products that not only perform well but also enhance the overall design of a building.
